Las Vegas Coronavirus Changes are Coming

Many of us are waiting for Sin City to reopen, but when they do what Las Vegas Coronavirus changes can we expect? Some things will certainly change, like the way people check-in to hotels, rooms are sanitized and games are cleaned. But what about restaurants and nightclubs? What about big ticket shows? Those Coronavirus casino changes could hit everything from Uber to the hotel swimming pool!

Whether you’re a mother or whether you’re a brother, welcome to This Week in Gambling! And if you’re anything like me this whole shelter and place thing is getting pretty frustrating… even though I know we have to do it.

Last week we discussed WHEN casinos would reopen because eventually these restrictions will end and eventually people will want to travel again. If you’d like to see that video just follow this link. This week’s big story is about WHAT we can expect when the casinos do eventually reopen.

Undoubtedly one of the biggest Las Vegas Coronavirus changes will be that not every casino is going to make it through this down time… and I’m not just talking about Las Vegas. Casinos all across America are losing millions and millions of dollars every day. It’s estimated that Caesars corporation can survive this shutdown for about 8 months… MGM only about 9… Boyd Gaming about 10. The Sands corporation and Wynn can survive about 15 to 20 months…. but what about the peripheral industries affected by the Coronavirus?

Everyone who depends on the gaming industry from taxi drivers to airline workers is basically shut down right now. Think about the Uber drivers… the restaurant workers… and the people who put on all those extravagant shows! Oh, the Vegas show!s Yes, another big change could be an end to big venue attractions. Take for example Cirque de Soleil… just gone! And it’s not just the shows that are in danger. Other amenities at hotels where crowds gather, like nightclubs, buffets and pools.

I realize we’ve spoken almost exclusively about Las Vegas in this video because, after all, they are the biggest gaming destination in the country. But other casinos all across America are hurting as well. Penn National estimates they can survive only about 5 months of casino closures, While Red Rock says about a year.

Two of the biggest tribal casinos in America, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun ,both shut down last month and furloughed their employees… some of which have not been paid. But what about the hundreds and hundreds of other tribal gaming sites that might not be able to withstand a closure of several months? Hopefully there will be some federal aid money for that. Also El Dorado resorts… although the only thing I hear about them is that they’re still moving forward with their plans to merge with Caesars… and if that’s what they’re trying to do then well I guess that’s some good news!

But you know it’s alright… it’s okay… we’ll live to see another day! Because not all of the potential Las Vegas Coronavirus changes are necessarily bad! In fact, when we come back from the break we’ll discuss some of the tremendous opportunities that may exist for visitors that are brave enough to venture out!

You know, like I was saying before the break, not all of these potential changes coming to Las Vegas are necessarily a bad thing for visitors. In fact, even now we’re already seeing some huge discounts and great deals on hotel rooms and airfare… just remember that buying anything right now could be risky because we don’t know when all this pandemic, lock-down stuff is going to actually come to an end.

However, when things do get back to normal some analysts believe that we may see an end to those stupid hotel “Resort Fees”… You know those fees they use to advertise a lower rate that you’re really not getting, and then they add them on at the end when you go to checkout and jack up the price! Yeah… those! And we may see an end to hotel parking fees as well.

Another change that was taking place before the Coronavirus struck was hotel automation. I’ve actually gone to Las Vegas, checked into a hotel at a kiosk, stayed a week, checked out at the kiosk and never even spoken to anyone at the property! Moving forward I would expect to see even more kiosks and automation.

Also the way they clean your room, the elevators and all the gaming equipment will have to change… and I can say that with some confidence because I know if they don’t change it, ain’t nobody going back to their hotels or their casinos! Not you! Not me! Nobody! I would expect much stricter state regulations, probably in line with the CDC!

At the end of the day, my friends, just remember we’re all in this together. And even if things don’t get back to exactly the way they were, they will eventually get better. And if you’re in Las Vegas and you Feel the city breakin’ and everybody shakin’ we’re just stayin’ alive!

Different casinos are best in different things, so to be able to make a distinction between all of them, I have set up this guide to the best casinos on the internet. It will be broken down into several articles because of its nature and because I want to include many different aspects in it, so out of practical purposes I decided not to make it as one single article. So, what do you need to look for in a casino? Some casinos have great customer support, some have a great selection of games or bonuses, while some are simply the best overall. What matters in the end is a combination of all of those aspects to get the best online gambling experience ever.In this guide to the best casinos on the internet I will talk about:GamesPayoutsSoftwareLive Dealer GamesMobile Casino AppsLoyalty ProgramsDeposit and Withdrawal MethodsCustomer SupportFAQ About Do’s and Don’t’s, License, Overall Experience etc.A Guide to the Best Online Casinos – PayoutsSome players prefer a selection of great games over a huge bonus, while others want to have a certain payment method available to get their money to and from their casino accounts… yet, some are mostly interested in the payouts and payout percentages of the game selection or individual games. This matters very much, because if a casino game pays very infrequently there is actually no point in hoping to get your money back by winning.Online Casino PayoutsReturn-to-Player (RTP) is the technical term used for casino payouts. This term describes the percentage of your money wagered that you can expect for the casino/game to return to you in winnings. The percentage reprisentes payouts on a longer term. So, if a game has a 97.3% RTP, you might expect to get back about £97.3 if you wagered £1 from a total of £100. Of course, this can vary because sometimes you strike a big win and even more is returned to you, which means you have beaten the casino by eliminating the RTP, while sometimes your luck is just not there so you end up losing more than just £2.7.Why is the RTP important? Because that way you can choose a casino where you can expect more of your money back in winnings. All casinos (or at least those reviewed by me here) have their RTP tested regularly with the help of third-party auditors. Some of these casinos display the payout percentages for individual games from a single category as in the case of Redbet (click to view Redbet’s RTP), while some just display the overall RTP for the games by displaying the certificates granted by these third-party auditors. So, depending on the payout percentage you may choose to play either 1429 Uncharted Seas slot with a RTP of 98.63% or Mega Moolah with a RTP of 88.12%.But, why is this big difference between these two RTPs? It’s because the first slot is a regular one, where you can win up to several thousand coins, while the other is a record breaking progressive jackpot slot where you can win up to £13 million. So, in order to make things a bit more balanced, casinos tend to lower the RTP of progressive jackpot slots.A Guide to the Best Online Casinos – Best OffersThere are many fantastic and disappointing offers out there, which makes it difficult to find the right one. Don’t always go straight for the first one you see and think is a good one. So, where are all the good offers found? Well, for starters you can find them at gambling portals like this one. When I make a review of a casino, I tend to point out if the bonus offer is fair or not by warning you of the wagering requirement or other entrapments. If you find a gambling portal where the casinos and bonus offers are just praised and nothing more, than stay away from them. This may seem like I try to bad mouth other portals, but what I actually want to do is tell you to steer away from biased advertising scams. Go at other portals by all means, maybe you will find better offers, but at least pay attention to the content.Good bonus offers are those that have a low wagering requirement. That’s it. Nothing else is that much important as the wagering requirement. For example, take a look at CasinoLuck’s welcome bonus offer and at Roxy Palace’s welcome bonus offer. CasinoLuck offers you a welcome bonus of £150 with a wagering requirement of 20x, which means, you have to wager a total of £3,000 before being able to withdraw your winnings (150 x 20 = 3,000). Roxy Palace on the other hand offers a bonus of £350 with a wagering requirement of 25x, which means you have to wager a total of £8,750 before withdrawing your winnings (350 x 25 = 8,750).Both wagering requirements are actually low, but the difference here is the bonus amount, which is another aspect that you need to watch for. No use if the wagering requirement is low if the bonus amount is big enough for you to be able to clear the requirement. So, in the end CasinoLuck wins here because they offer 200 free spins as well!Stay put for some more useful info with the subsequent parts of this Guide to the Best Casinos.Read more at http://gamblethenwin.com

Adjusting From Home Games to Casino Games

Most people who play poker seriously started by playing in home games. The structure of these games is simple. Generally, everyone would ante a certain amount (say, $0.25) and then the betting was structured as to have a minimum and maximum bet. For example, the bets and raises would range between $0.25 and $2 each round. The play at home games was generally: bet, call (or perhaps bet, raise, call.) Most hands would go to a showdown, and typically the person who had the hottest cards would win at the end of the day. Games were mostly luck and a little bit of skill.Internet poker and casino poker are very different from this typical home game in 3 ways: the ante structure, the betting structure, and the competition.Ante StructureFirst, unless you are playing 7-card stud, there is no ante; instead, there are blinds. The person to the left of the dealer must pay the small blind and the person after him must pay the big blind. These are forced bets. All the other players are not forced to pay anything to receive cards (they do not need to ante), but they must match the big blind or any raise to the big blind to see the flop. Thus, a typical game, involving 6 people, with a small blind (SB) of 50 cents and a big blind (BB) of $1 would go as follows preflop:Seat one: SB ($.50)Seat two: BB ($1)Seat three: FoldSeat four: Calls BB ($1)Seat five: Raises BB ($2)Dealer (Seat six): FoldSeat one: FoldSeat two: Calls raise ($1)Seat four: Calls raise ($1)Then the betting would begin with the big blind (since the small blind folded) after the flop. For more information about blinds and betting structures, check out our Poker Rules section.Betting StructureIn addition to the ante structure being different, the type of betting differs. The most similar to the spread limit (i.e. the minimum and maximum bet) would be no-limit. There is still a minimum bet, however, the maximum bet is the amount of chips in front of you. There is a common no-limit myth that if someone bets more chips than you have, you must fold. That is not true. If Tom bets $30 and I only have $15, I only must put in $15 to call. If I'm the only person in the pot, Tom is essentially betting only $15. However, let's say that the pot is between me, Tom, and Jane. Suppose both Tom and Jane have $50, while I have $15. Tom put in $30, I go all-in for $15, and Jane must call $30 to stay in. $15 from each player ($45 total) would be in the main pot. $15 from Jane and $15 from Tom would be in a sidepot. So, at the showdown, I would be in contention for $45 and Tom and Jane would be in contention for the $45 main pot plus the $30 sidepot. If I have the best hand, and Jane has the second best hand, I would win $45 and she would win $30. If Jane's hand were better than mine, she would win the entire $75.Closely similar to no-limit is pot-limit, where you can bet any amount from the minimum bet to the size of the pot. Finally, the most popular form of betting is known as limit (also called fixed-limit). This type of game has fixed bets. For example, in a $2-$4 game, the size of the bets are $2 or $4, depending on which round it is. In Texas Hold'em and Omaha, each bet preflop and at the flop (when the three cards come out) is $2. If someone wishes to raise, he must do so by $2. Thus, in a 4-handed situation, this would be a typical case:Seat one: CheckSeat two: Bet $2Seat three: Raise $2 (to $4)Seat four: Call $4Seat one: FoldSeat two: Call $4The bets on the turn (when four cards are out) and the river (when all five cards are out) would be the higher amount: $4. So, taken the above example, this is how the turn betting may happen:Seat two: Bet $4Seat three: FoldSeat four: Raise $4 (to $8)Seat two: Call $4CompetitionFinally, skill pays off more on the internet and in the casino. People actually try to win because the money exchanged is often more than just nickels and dimes. You should not just call to the river 'just to see what he has' and such. You must use strategy if you expect to win in the long run.Someone whose only poker experience is playing at home games may win at first at internet or casino poker, but will probably lose in the long run (unless his or her home game is particularly tough). The other strategy articles on this website will help you to become a winning poker player.

LuckyAce.com given the message.

I got a call from a rep from LuckyAce.com tonight - and he was trying to blag a spot on the website. He seemed a nice enough guy (and might be) but unfortunately for him he never really got started as I refuse to work with anyone that's prepared to be associated with 888.con as the LuckyAce.com brand is.Anyway - getting back to the point of this blog - this LuckyAce.com guy started the polished sales patter - and I interrupted and said that I was not interested in working with them or even listening to them as we'd had a bad experience with 888.con and I will not give them ANY exposure on site.Oh why? He asked?A while back this sh!t of a company (888.con) decided to close our CPA account with them - and not pay out on any commissions owed. Of course they didnt actually tell us - simply blocked the affiliate login and let us keep promoting their site for an extra 3-4 weeks until we noticed. Then they simply said that they would not discuss the case and their discision was final. As you might imagine thay went down like a lead balloon ... and to this day I hold the greedy b@#st@rds at 888.com as a prime example of what is wrong with many of the cheating affiliate programs today. They shouldn't do THAT!! - the LuckyAce.com exclaimed .... (trying to establish some sort of rapport)."Exactly" I replied "and thats the sort of pond scum that you're working with/for - and I want nothing to do with you."AND then I hung up.I've been feeling good about it all night - and so I felt the need to share. Thanks for reading.--------------------ATTENTION 888.CON (888.COM) :Screw me out of affiliate earnings and an extra months work?Don't expect me to ever forget.Refuse to even discuss the matter - because you've got all the power and the money and the legal suits?Don't expect me to forget.

The Wire Act, Online Gambling and VR in Vegas

We're kicking off the New Year with gambling news on the Department of Justice Wire Act case involving online gambling! Discussion includes Sheldon Adelson, Joe Biden and the Coalition to Stop Internet Gambling. Also, Virtual Reality is taking over Las Vegas. Soon, players may be able to use VR to bring Vegas to them!

In 2011, the DOJ’s Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) issued a memorandum in response to a question from lotteries in New York and Illinois seeking to sell tickets online. The opinion clarified that the Wire Act only applied to wagering on sporting events or contests.

Online lottery retailers, therefore, did not need to worry about implicating that statute.

Congress worked in the years that followed to pass legislation dubbed the Restoration of America’s Wire Act (RAWA), which would have expanded the scope to include additional online gaming activities. Despite some bipartisan support, RAWA never found much traction and eventually slipped out of the spotlight.

The current administration, however, managed to meet the objective of RAWA via executive action in the form of a 2018 OLC memorandum. It effectively accomplished what Congress could not, reversing the 2011 memorandum and the position affirmed by one appellate court and endorsed by another.
